Our company has been in business since 2018. Throughout that time, our commitment has been, and still is, to provide a safe, secure, peaceful, and aesthetically pleasing home for our residents.

We adhere to a strict and high standard of infection control for the safety and health of our residents. Our quality of care is held to the highest standards and is rigorously enforced by both staff and management.

We are truly your “home away from home.”

The Chalet, Montara is located in the coastside city of Montara with easy access to Highways 1 and 92. Montara State Beach is only half a mile from our location and the city has several shops, cafes, and restaurants.

The town of Pacifica is 10 minutes North and Half Moon Bay is 15 mins South. Both towns offer a wide variety of stores and restaurants.

The coastside towns are also a hub for creatives so there are a lot of art studios and galleries in the area.

We are 5 minutes to Seton Coastside, 25 minutes to Mills-Peninsula Hospital and Medical Group, and easily accessible to other medical facilities, dialysis centers, public transportation and more.

Life at The Chalet Montara

At The Chalet Montara, we offer a wide variety of activities to keep our residents happy, healthy, and loving life.

From craft Tuesdays to exercise Fridays, we regularly schedule karaoke fun days, and escorted walks around the neighborhood that are in compliance with COVID-19 precautions.

Music and performing arts on the weekends, and other spiritual and physical activities are currently on hold until further notice, but there’s still something for everyone here.

Art Classes

Art classes are popular amongst all seniors at our facility. They are loved by everyone as they are not just engaging but rewarding. They get to create something that they love and keep it with them, or gift it to their loved ones.

Musical Performances

Our facility has a roster of very accomplished and professional musicians and entertainers that perform most weekends and make sure all our residents are happy and entertained.

Exercise Classes

Exercise is vital to keeping the residents of our community healthy and thriving. We offer fun, safe, and age-appropriate exercise classes that all residents can participate in.

Peer Group Sessions

Sharing life experiences and lessons gained from such is one activity residents actively participate in. It is a facilitated activity that creates an engaging, insightful time for everyone. Many of our residents enjoy this activity and join in whenever they can.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) serves seniors age 60 and older. It is also known as an assisted living facility or a “board and care”, if run in a residential home.

The level of care and supervision offered at RCFEs are for people who are unable to live by themselves ,but do not need 24-hour nursing care. They provide a room, meals, housekeeping, and assistance with the activities of daily living, like personal care. RCFEs are considered non-medical facilities and are not required to have medical staff on the premises.

They must meet the care and safety standards set by the State of California and are licensed and inspected by the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD)

The Chalet Montara is located in the beautiful coastside community of Montara in the Peninsula. Residents have the advantage of being 10-20 mins away from fantastic restaurants and locales near the water, and 30 minutes away from the city of San Francisco.

We are also staffed more than most facilities of the same or comparable size. It allows us to ensure that proper and safe care are accorded to our residents. We are able to accommodate many complex and challenging conditions because we do have the necessary staffing to address those. This includes a full time facility nurse alongside an excellent network of home health agencies, and an independent psychologist to take care of the residents’ medical and mental health concerns. Staff turnover is very low ensuring the consistency and continuity of the bonds created with residents .

Following our mission of a holistic approach to senior care, we have planned activities five days a week; healthy, nutritious and tasty food prepared from scratch served daily, and events that are open to the community to foster engagement and community-building are held in the facility.

We are licensed for 24 residents. We have 22 very well-appointed bedrooms that is a mix of both private and shared rooms.

Rates vary depending on the resident’s level of care and room. We do not charge any ancillary fees like community and assessment. We do require a nonrefundable holding deposit, once a room is decided upon.

Yes, individuals on hospice are welcomed. We have a hospice waiver for eight residents. We charge a daily rate of $350.

Yes, we do and have a three-month minimum stay.

Residents are encouraged to bring personal items, such as picture frames, souvenirs, and small furnishings to make them feel at home. The rooms are furnished, but we are able to accommodate most requests to bring in personal furniture, except for mattresses. If you have specific questions on an item, please contact the administrator.

Loi oversees the daily operation of The Chalet Montara. She is involved in all aspects of resident care—everything from formulating special diets to coordinating appointments.

Most importantly, she ensures that all residents are engaged and cared for with respect, dignity and love.

She is always accessible by phone, text or email and will respond to any questions or concerns immediately.

Jerome

Jerome is in charge of The Chalet Montara’s financial health. He is responsible for accounts receivables and payables.

His attention to detail is pivotal and business insights are invaluable.

Mary Ann

Our patient and good-natured nurse is in charge of any issue med-related.

She is in charge of our medication management and doc appointment systems.
